This year's 20th issue of Shueisha's Margaret magazine announced on Tuesday that Mika Yamamori's Hirunaka no Ryuusei (Daytime Shooting Star) manga is getting a live-action film adaptation that will open in Japan in March 2017.
'Takehiko Shinjou (live-action 'Your Lie in April', Paradise Kiss, Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu) is directing the film, and Naoko Adachi (live-action Shitsuren Chocolatier) is writing the script. Future issues of Margaret will reveal the film's cast and exact release date.
Hirunaka no Ryuusei was launched the manga in 2011 and ended the series in 2014. The manga's 12 main volumes and one spinoff volume have 1.93 million copies in print, and the paid digital version has 500,000 downloads.
